Driving Strategic Transformation In Aerospace Safety

What began with a parachute became a lifelong pursuit of aviation excellence for Rebecca Kerr. As Senior Aviation Safety Manager at Airbus, she leads safety across civil helicopter and defense operations in Australia and New Zealand. With over 20 years in aerospace, her experience spans engineering design, program leadership and operational management.
She started as a skydiver and videographer before earning an Honors degree in Aerospace Engineering from RMIT University. Later, she added diplomas in leadership, safety and quality. At Airbus, she has led cross-functional teams through complex safety and performance mandates and served as Co-Chair of the Defense Aviation Regulator’s Industry Consultative Committee. Known for her clarity and calm in high-stakes environments, Kerr brings a systems mindset to aviation’s toughest challenges.
Embedding Safety into the Core of Aviation Operations
For Kerr, safety is a mindset. At Airbus, her discipline reflects both technical command and cultural influence. Her approach reaches far beyond compliance. It transforms safety into a shared language across departments, linking operational protocols with frontline behavior and leadership accountability.
Her strength lies in how she integrates safety standards into daily decision-making. The same precision lens evaluates every operation, routine or mission-critical task. Under her guidance, safety does not interrupt business. It defines how business is done.
Operational Discipline with Strategic Clarity
Kerr’s leadership is equally visible in Airbus's operations. With a strong foundation in operational management, she has built responsive and resilient systems. Her ability to align safety with strategic business goals has reshaped the organization’s financial, procedural, and operational performance.
Rather than focusing on isolated fixes, she identifies systemic inefficiencies and addresses them with solutions that can scale. Her efforts have enhanced agility across the business while preserving rigor. The result is a leaner, more responsive operation that meets the pace of change without losing sight of the standards that matter.
